One Community

Corners Outreach works closely with community partners in efforts to continue serving families through a holistic approach. Below are some of the ways other organizations have met their own goals, and served our community through Corners Outreach:

  • Creating Connected Communities – We partner with Creating Connected Communities to host a carnival at Nesbit Elementary once a year and have a recurring carnival at our Hightower/Kingsley location each year. Creating Connected Communities is a nonprofit with the mission to bring life-enhancing programs to children experiencing hardship by empowering teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers across our diverse community.

  • Atlanta Community Food Bank – The Atlanta Community Food Bank provides monthly food drives which started at the beginning of the pandemic. The Atlanta Community Food Bank is the largest food access partner in Georgia, working with more than 700 nonprofit partners to distribute over 65 million meals across 29 counties. In 2021, our partnership with the Atlanta Community food bank delivered 10,000 pounds of food each month at our Hightower/Kingsley location, providing food to more than 200 families in our community.

  • Diaz Foods – Diaz Foods provides monthly food drives with culturally relevant items/food. Diaz Foods is a leading distributor and marketer of specialty foods, and employs over 400 diverse employees, which contributes to overall product knowledge and an understanding of market needs.

  • Gwinnett County Public Library – The Gwinnett County Public Library provides a mobile library for Corners students during the summer. The Gwinnett County Public Library’s mission is to support your informational, educational and recreational interests with convenient, creative, customer-friendly access to materials and services.

  • Gwinnett County Public Schools Career and Technical Education – GCPS Career and Technical Education provides event series to highlight vocational tracks available for middle and high school students. Gwinnett County Public Schools Career and Technical Education’s cutting-edge programs offer state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities that go far beyond traditional classrooms.

  • Money Management International – Money Management International provides quarterly financial literacy workshops in Spanish for parents. Money Management International is a nonprofit that delivers financial aid without bias, without restriction and without judgment.

  • Latino Community Fund – The Latino Community Fund hosts vaccination drives. LCF Georgia is committed to investing in the Latinx community and the organizations and leaders getting the work done and advocating for our parents, workers, entrepreneurs, and students.
